Popular television actor Abir Goswami passed away on Friday, the 31st of May. His death came as a shock for the industry especially his co-stars who had been working with him on his ongoing projects.

Actress Sayantani Ghosh, who was all set to begin shooting for a Bengali film named Sakkhat with Abir shared that she had spoken to him just about an hour before she heard about his sad demise. "We were planning to go for a movie together, and around 3 pm, I got a call about his death. He was quite healthy and that's what is more disturbing. It's truly shocking", said Sayantani.

Abir, who has worked in quite a few films and several television serials including Choti Maa, Badalte Rishton Ki Daasta, Pyaar Ka Dard Hai, Main Teri Parchhain Hoon amongst others, reportedly suffered a heart attack while he was working out at his gym in Malad.

"Another shocker! RIP Abir Goswami. Have the fondest memories of working together on Lakshya. Condolences to the family", said Farhan Akhtar. "Woh buland aawaaz , woh naram dil , woh sachcha dost... he left us. RIP Abir Goswami. We will miss you", wrote Sharad Kelkar.

Actress Smita Singh, who had worked with him in daily soap Kkusum was equally shocked at hearing the news. "It is true, he is no more. I am really shocked at the news. He was hardly 33 or 34 years old", she said.

Abir had taken to Twitter to mourn over the death of filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh just a day before his own death. "Rituda may ur soul RIP. I'm honoured to be touched by ur genius in this life", he had tweeted.
